Prime Circle's announcement comes just over a month after lead singer Ross Learmonth confirmed his departure from the group. The Voice SA He was replaced by season 1 runner-up Gavin Edwards.
“My whole life has inspired me towards something bigger than myself, and this moment is now,” Edwards said, without mentioning Learmonth.
Edwards' addition marks “an important chapter in the band's illustrious history.”
Formed in 2001, Prime Circle has built a cult following at home and abroad through their approach to the rock genre.
The ensemble has won numerous awards, released six studio albums, achieved multi-platinum status, and added several chart-topping singles and sold-out tours to its name.
“Announcing Gavin Edwards as our new singer is a truly exciting moment for each of us,” said bassist and founding member Marco Gomez.

Bringing the experience to Prime Circle
Edwards is a veteran vocalist with nearly 30 years of experience as a singer and songwriter. He was previously signed to former Westlife member Brian McFadden's record label, and came second to Richard Stirton in season one. The Voice SA In 2016.
“Gavin is not only a great musician, but also a great human being, and has quickly become an integral part of the Prime Circle family,” Gomez said.
It won't be an easy task for Edwards to fill in for Learmonth, as fans are accustomed to Learmonth's unique voice.
“My time at Prime Circle was amazing, and I'm so grateful for the memories we created together. But at this crossroads in my life, it's time for me to move on.” said Learmonth, confirming his resignation.
“All relationships change and evolve. Unfortunately, due to creative differences, Prime Circle and I will no longer continue this musical journey together.”
Prime Circle keyboardist Neil Breytenbach thanked fans for their support following Learmonth's departure.
“Thank you to all our fans. Your understanding, continued support and cheers for us have played a vital role during this time,” Breitenbach said.

Edwards released Prime Circle's 6-song EP “ the world we know.
“The seamless integration and synergy achieved in such a short period of time provides compelling evidence that Gavin Edwards is definitely the right fit for the band,” said the band's drummer, Dale Schnetler.
Primus Circle is scheduled to release a single in March, but a release date for the EP has not yet been confirmed.
