African National Congress (ANC) President Cyril Ramaphosa has said it is important for the party to draw courage from the late former anti-apartheid activist and minister, Dullah Omar, as it embarks on a path of rebirth.
Prime Minister Ramaphosa was speaking today at a wreath-laying ceremony at Mr Omar's grave in Johnson Road, Cape Town.
Mr Ramaphosa's comments were made ahead of the party's birthday celebrations at Khayelitsha Stadium on Saturday.
Mr Ramaphosa said that while the ANC may have lost support in last year's elections, South Africans continue to show support for the party.
“The people of South Africa still love this African National Congress movement. That is why, as we renew ourselves and rebuild ourselves, we draw courage from people like Omuludullah and he is the leader of South Africa's It is important to applaud and thank him for the service he has given to people and our entire country.”

Mr Ramaphosa also visited Mr Mandela's cell on Robben Island.
