After flying to the UK for the Well Child Award ceremony, Prince Harry met with Prince Seeso and reflected on the activities of Sentebare NPO.
During the week Lesotho celebrated 200 years of independence, Prince Harry spoke to an audience in Maseru about the power of youth.
“What I've learned over 20 years is that young people have the solutions, and if we continue to grow our platforms and share their stories while breaking down stigma, real change will come. It happens,” the Duke of Sussex said.
He spoke on behalf of Sentebare, a non-profit organization (NPO) that he co-founded with Prince Seiso of Lesotho.
Mr. Sentebale's work revolves around improving the health, wealth creation and climate resilience of young people in southern Africa.

'Let the young people lead the way.”
A discussion was held to reflect on Sentebale's work in Botswana, and young people spoke about their respective journeys in the advocacy program “Let Youth Lead.”

Sentebale
After flying to the UK for the WellChild Awards ceremony, Prince Harry met with Prince Seeso by a bonfire to reflect on Sentebale's progress and the work that still needs to be done.
When Sentebale was founded in 2006, HIV/AIDS was disproportionately affecting children and young people in southern Africa.
“We are achieving our goals, not just Sentebale, but all sectors are achieving. It is making a huge difference. There is an increase in energy and optimism, and in young people between the ages of 6 and 25. It’s the voice,” Harry said.
Now that the prospect of a fulfilling life is a reality, Sentebale has evolved to work with the next generation towards solutions to a wide range of issues that impact them, including health, wealth inequality, and climate. .
The NPO welcomes innovative funders and business leaders to Maseru and the nonprofit Mamohato Children's Center, where they will be invited to visit the “Kingdom in the Sky” to witness Sentebale's programs in action. To kick off the event, a reading was held under the stars.

Lesotho 200th place
The night's events took place during the week of Lesotho's bicentenary of independence, marking two centuries since it was founded as a sovereign state under King Moshoeshoe I.
Last month, the University of the Free State (UFS) Library and Information Services (LIS) announced a project to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Basotho nation.
This initiative celebrates 200 years of the rich history and culture of the Basotho people and focuses on the promotion, preservation and publication of quality original African language books and research.
