ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa says he is not losing sleep over the May 29 vote. Mr Ramaphosa made the comments in Greytown, KwaZulu-Natal while campaigning in the Inkosi-Bambata region.
His comments came amid predictions that support for the ANC would decline, especially with the rise of the MK party. The ANC president said he was confident the people of KwaZulu-Natal would vote for his party on the 29th of this month.
“Our support in KwaZulu-Natal is overwhelming and we are not worried that our election results will be as the 'hope-mongers' say they are. Our people know deep down that they support the African National Congress, and all we are doing now is making sure that the majority of our people go to vote. If we reach millions of ANC supporters, we will be absolutely certain of victory. ”

Mr Ramaphosa also said the donations the ANC had received had made campaigning across the country possible.
The ANC declared nearly R17 million in donations to the IEC between January and March 2024.
The ANC president said there was nothing wrong with donating to political parties, which was allowed by law.
“The law allows any political party to accept donations from anyone, and ultimately it is up to those who want to support a political party to choose where to put their money. Therefore, we We've always had a huge number of people and organizations supporting our work, and that's what's happening right now.”
