African National Congress (ANC) president Cyril Ramaphosa expressed optimism during a campaign tour in Kwakwa, eastern Free State, ahead of the May 29 general election.
Mr Ramaphosa told hundreds of ANC members and supporters at the party's Siyankoba rally that he would win elections again as he celebrated 30 years of democracy.
He said the first democratic elections were historic, paving the way to change the lives of many South Africans. Mr Ramaphosa says he is encouraged by the number of people who continue to support ANC rallies and rallies. He says these need to be translated into votes.

The ANC said it was focusing its campaign efforts as it continues to grow in strength. ANC national spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsili said the party was looking for an absolute majority for the Free State to contribute to the national outcome of the general election.
Mr Motsili said that as the ANC they were focused on the campaign and would continue to lead the nation and deliver on its promise and mission to provide a better life for all.
“And we talk about service delivery and we also talk about the promises that we are making in our manifesto. We are the only political party on the ground.”
