Drag queen Manila Von Teese (real name Vion Wenzel) recently spoke about her 14-year journey as a drag queen.
He currently stars in a reality TV show on Showmax. Bora: Queen's Fan Die Carpalong with six other drag queens.

Manila reflected on her drag journey, highlighting her personal and professional growth.
“I feel like my drag has evolved so much. When I look at pictures from when I first started, it's intimidating. Not only has my look changed, but my outlook on drag has changed too.”
“I have a deep passion for this art form. I've had the opportunity to grow personally and experience what it means to hustle. I've learned a lot since I started.”
Manila also acknowledged that being a drag queen isn't cheap, emphasizing that the profession comes with a significant financial commitment.
“Expensive is an understatement. Queens often perform in expensive costumes and wigs, so it can cost a pretty penny from head to toe. We're lucky to be able to make our own costumes, otherwise we'd be broke.”

Performance and passion
Manila said the concept of his performances is driven by emotion. He explained: “For me, it always starts with the emotion the song gives me. I believe the music has to speak to me first before I can convey that emotion to the audience.”
“During this time, I visualize the costumes and choreography. This can vary from five minutes to eight months.”
He stressed that passion is the key to success as a drag performer.
“To be a great performer, you need not only a passion for drag, but a passion for being onstage and for making someone believe in the fantasy that you're trying to sell while you're performing.”
Manila is encouraging viewers to tune in Bola Gain insight into the world of drag and the personal stories behind the performances.
“Sometimes when we get caught up in the excitement of performing a drag show, we forget that we're human and we have hearts. There's a lot of heart expressed in the show.”
