RiseMzansi said the activities of parliament and the Government of National Unity (GNU) were on track in 2024. The party said the main highlights of this year include the formation of different political ideals within the cabinet, which currently has different political parties represented.
Raizumzansi MP Makashule Gana said he hoped 2025 would bring more political unity for the country.
“And for the work that we are doing as Rise Mzansi, not only in Parliament but also in the GNU, especially in Parliament, our leader Songezo Zibi is the chairman of Scopa and I as the whip of a smaller party. I would say we're interacting more closely with Congress. We had a slower start than in previous years, but once everyone understood what the new reality was, things started moving faster and faster, and now people too. We understand each other's roles.”

Meanwhile, African National Congress (ANC) chief Mdumiseni Ntuli says the legislative process since the formation of the GNU has been both interesting and challenging.
The ANC ruled the country for 30 years, but failed to gain a full majority after elections and formed the GNU with other parties.
“This has been a very difficult year as it has been an election year. It has been very difficult for the ANC, which has been the ruling party for the past 30 years, and understandably given all the challenges facing the people. It means. As the ruling party, the ANC has always been expected to take on the responsibility of addressing the multifaceted challenges that continue to face many of our people. I am, of course, very happy that we went to the election. Although we didn't have a majority, the ANC still managed to form a government of national unity, which of course forced us to move forward with the harsh reality of our situation.

COSATU parliamentary coordinator Matthew Parks said the 2024 legislative process was tested in many ways by the formation of the GNU.
“The May 29 election was an important event. It was not an easy moment. Despite all the chaos and noise of democracy, it is a moment that all South Africans can be proud of. As Cosatu , its ally the ANC Despite this, we are proud of how the ANC has conducted itself in the face of electoral defeat. It was proposed that the government immediately accept this and consider how to form a government in the future to ensure national stability, but a government of national unity is our first priority as Cosatu. It wasn't a choice.”
