MBOMBELA – Unique South African costumes, crafts and accessories will be on display.
“Our department has been invited to participate in the South African Cultural Season in Russia from 6th to 16th March and thought it would be appropriate to use this opportunity to introduce some of our fashion designers to new markets. ” said the Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation. Spokesperson, Mr. Sibongile Nkosi.
The South African Cultural Season in Russia aims to transform cultural heritage and culture into tangible economic benefits. It also showcases and promotes South Africa's cultural tourism industry. The exhibition is divided into two: traditional/contemporary clothing and South Africa's most beautiful objects.
“We are looking for traditional costumes and accessories from different cultures of South Africa to take to Russia. This exhibition will be an expression of inspiration in the form of accessories in contemporary traditional fashion designs. ”Nkosi said, adding that the two exhibitions will be used to connect to the Moscow Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, which will be held in Russia a week later.

Mr Nkosi continues: “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our young designers to attract the attention of designers from around the world and showcase their work.
Powerful people. The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia, so this exhibition offers endless possibilities. ”
