The South African Weather Service said the fire danger could increase in several parts of the country at the start of the weekend, as well as adversely affecting inland winds.
Shock-based warning
A level 2 yellow warning was issued due to internal wind damage, resulting in localized problems for high-sided vehicles on slope-prone routes in the eastern part of the Northern Cape and the far western part of the Free State.
Fire hazard warning
Very high fire danger is expected in eastern Northern Cape, northeastern Western Cape, westernmost Free State provinces and northern Eastern Cape.
