The South African Weather Service said a range of weather conditions were expected over the weekend, with fire danger, snowfall, morning fog and heavy rain expected in several parts of the country.
Impact-Based Warnings
A level 2 amber warning for strong winds making sea navigation difficult is expected to be in place between Cape Point and East London through Sunday.
A yellow level 2 warning for damaging surf is also expected to be in place between Cape Agulhas and Plettenberg Bay from Saturday afternoon into Sunday evening, which could cause damage to exposed coastal infrastructure in the bay.
A level 2 amber warning for heavy rainfall leading to flooding of settlements, roads, low-lying land and bridges is expected in the western Eastern Cape coastal areas and adjacent interior areas.
Fire hazard warning
Very high fire danger conditions are expected in the far eastern Northern Cape, western Free State and southwestern northwest.

A blocked low pressure system is expected to bring cold, rainy and windy conditions to the highlands south of Namaqua District in the Northern Cape and the central and eastern interior of the Western Cape on Saturday, before spreading to the rest of the interior Northern Cape, inland Eastern Cape, Free State and along the Lesotho border from Sunday into Monday.
Scattered light snowfall is possible in the Eastern Cape and highlands of Lesotho.

The eastern half of the state will be cloudy and cold with isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast and scattered rain inland.
Widespread showers and rain are expected across the South West.
Strong winds will blow from the east along the coast.
KwaZulu-Natal Morning fog will form inland but otherwise partly cloudy and cool weather is expected, with warmer conditions in the Northeast.
The afternoon will be cloudy with scattered showers and rain in the south and east into Richards Bay.
Winds along the coast will be calm to moderate northerly to north-easterly, changing to strong southerly to south-westerly winds south of Durban later in the morning, spreading northwards.
