West Ham manager David Moyes hopes his side's recent return to the Premier League will be the catalyst for further progress in Europe this season.
The Hammers face German side Freiburg in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie on Thursday.
The back-to-back wins have lifted Moyes' side into seventh place in the league, with the Scots aiming for a European finish.
“I feel we are getting back to where we should be,” said Moyes, who won last year's Europa Conference League.
The Hammers also reached the Europa League semi-finals in 2021-22, with Moyes looking to ensure his team qualify for the continental competition for a fourth successive season.
Since top-flight wins over Brentford and Everton, the atmosphere surrounding the east London club appears to have changed.
With his contract expiring in the summer, the future of the Hammers manager is in the spotlight, with some fans waving banners reading “Moyes out” during last month's defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Some supporters have grown increasingly frustrated after West Ham made a poor start to 2024, going eight games without a win.
Moyes, who defeated Freiburg home and away in the group stage before Christmas, said, “We want to achieve another great result in Europe. We also want to qualify for Europe again in the league.''
“There were some not-so-good times, but now I feel like I'm getting back on track and getting back to where I should be. I hope that continues.” [against Freiburg].
“I think it's incredible that West Ham are a European club. We've been like that for three years now and we've played over 30 games in those three years.
“We want to continue that and develop it further.”
Morocco defender Nayef Agerud is a doubt for West Ham, while Ivory Coast winger Maxwell Cornet has not traveled to Germany due to a hamstring injury.
