DJ Simza recently caused an uproar on social media when he tweeted, “I ordered food on an app and a robot delivered it to me,'' along with a video of a robot delivering the food.
Although the video offered a glimpse of the convenience of high-tech services, it sparked heated debate about whether South Africa is ready for such advances, especially given the country's high unemployment rate.
Many followers gave mixed reactions.
- “That shouldn't happen to Mzansi. Unemployment is high in our country,” one user commented, expressing concern about potential job losses related to robot deliveries.
- “What country are we in? Interesting, here in South Africa we don't need this until we solve the unemployment problem,” added another, expressing similar concerns.
- Some found humor in the idea of robots navigating the streets of South Africa, with one user asking: “Will robots fly, bump into people on the street, ride elevators?” We are not ready for that! ”
- Some expressed concerns about job security, pointing out, “LOL, how many jobs have been lost due to the use of this robot?”
What do you think? Are you ready for robot delivery?
