Raised in Australia, Lakay’s sound can be described as a fusion of soul, jazz and R&B, and in 2018 he headlined that year’s Dstv Delicious Festival alongside Erykah Badu.
The first show of the November tour will be at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in the Western Cape on the 29th of that month, followed by a Johannesburg show at Marks Park in Emmarentia the following day.
Lakay has carved out a niche for himself while working with some of the biggest names in the music industry.
His fifth studio album, loopReleased earlier this year, the album further cemented his status as a pioneer in the alternative music world.

The 32-year-old singer and producer released his 13-track studio album in May this year, which is an exploration of himself and his sound and marks Rakei's evolution as an artist.
From the lush orchestral arrangements to the deep, groovy beats that form the foundation of his signature style, the album is a testament to his ability to push the boundaries of contemporary music.
“When I was younger, I wanted to be a beatmaker like Jordan, a very abstract beatmaker,” he explained in an interview after the album's release.
“I had a vision of who I wanted to be, and I was always criticizing myself: 'Is this too pop? Is this too cheesy?' But with this record, I didn't criticize, because I approached everything I wrote with the idea that it was something that was inside of me.”
Songs like FreeIt has already garnered praise from the likes of BBC Radio 1's Clara Amfo. trustWith its rich, soulful atmosphere, the song is sure to resonate deeply with South African audiences.
