Snoop Dogg will continue to provide commentary for NBC through the end of the Olympics.
Olympic competitions are known for their stress and tension, so the arrival of American rapper Snoop Dogg in Paris provided great relief to athletes and spectators, but it did not come at a cheap price.
According to New York venture capitalist Henry McNamara, the 52-year-old rapper is making a handsome amount of money while providing sideline entertainment at the XXXIII Olympic Games.
“Snoop is getting $500,000 a day plus expenses to promote here. [the] “It's the Olympics,” McNamara said.
Sitting next to an NBC executive at dinner, he told me that Snoop was getting $500,000 a day plus expenses to promote the Olympics. From gin and juice to millions of dollars to be a celebrity at the Olympics, what a world.

McNamara learned of the information through an NBC executive who was with him at dinner.
Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jr, will provide commentary for NBC until the end of the Olympics on Sunday, August 11. McNamara said the rapper will receive a total of $8 million (about R150 million) over the course of the 16-day Paris 2024 Olympics.

A peek at the moment
From music, movies, fashion to entrepreneurship, rapper Snoop Dogg seems to have done it all.
Snoop carried the Olympic torch ahead of the opening ceremony in Paris.
As Simone Biles stood on the gymnastics floor during the preliminary round, she suddenly gestured to her teammates and pointed to the stands, where Snoop was cheering on her and her teammates like a proud uncle at a school game. Snoop shared a moment with US gymnast Jordan Childs and Biles.
A similar experience occurred with American swimmer Caleb Dressel after he won the gold medal in the men's 4x100m freestyle relay, with Snoop standing with the swimmer's wife to cheer him on.
“Go for it, baby! Go for it!” Dressel's wife, Megan, cheered next to Snoop. “You did it, baby!” the rap star yelled.
The rapper took a break from cheering on the US team to try his hand at swimming and take lessons from none other than 23-time Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps.
Speaking to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games website, the legendary swimmer shared with his students the secrets to being the strongest in the pool: “wingspan and lung capacity”.
Snoop's response? “That describes me so well!”
On Sunday, the rapper donned full riding kit and rode a golf cart to watch the dressage event at the Palace of Versailles in Paris.
His friend and former TV co-host Martha Stewart was also in attendance, with the American chef wearing a nearly identical outfit.
The rapper spoke about his excitement for equestrian events during an appearance on NBC.
“I'm interested in dancing horses,” he said, “and I want to feed them carrots and apples… I want to make sure they're fed before they dance.”
