The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced a grant payment date of February 2024.

Payment of social grants started today (February 2nd). The first social grant payment will be the elderly (pensioner) grant, which should be liquidated and/or become collectible.

Other social grants, such as childcare grants and disability grants, are also due next week.

SASSA reminder: Next social grant you have to pay
According to SASSA, the next social grant to be paid is the disability grant, which will be paid on 5 February 2024. The next social grant after this is the Child Care (Children) Grant, scheduled for 6 February 2024.

Recipients of social subsidies will be able to receive their subsidies starting next week. Recipients with bank accounts can expect payments in person, while others will have to go to a collection point.
If your social grant is refused, you have 30 days to appeal (in writing).
SASSA confirms gold card remains valid
Social grants are paid into your bank account. You can also give grants directly to your Gold Card registered in the system.

Despite reports that the card could expire last year (2023), the latest update states that the Social Grant card will remain valid for the rest of the year.
Until further announcement, yes, the Gold Card will remain valid.
