Something Soweto has not hesitated to expose the true identity of DJ Maphorisa in the pursuit of the Amalanga Awafani case.
Earlier on Tuesday morning, the singer took to Twitter to reveal how she used a music producer's name to make her music successful, but the producer also took advantage of her by releasing songs without her permission.
Angered by the allegations, DJ Maphorisa shared a video urging musicians to send him invoices and pay him as he cannot own all the masters of his songs.
In response to Phori's speech, Something Soweto used the DJ's words against him and exposed his lies to the public.
“Here it is, everyone. Follow “I acknowledge that I paid to own my work/masters. This was our agreement and is in contrast to what he stated in the first video where he gave me the masters. There is nothing wrong with me wanting to own my own work,” the vocalist wrote.
Since the issue escalated on social media, netizens have defended Something Soweto while accusing Maphorisa of exploiting artists.
Here it is, everyone. Follow I confirmed that I paid to own my work/masters. This was our agreement, as opposed to him saying in the first video that he gave me the masters. There's nothing wrong with me wanting to own my work. https://t.co/h2v5Ebvfql
