Sunday, 5th In December 2021, the South African Embassy hosted a South African Business Networking and Cultural Show in commemoration of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa's two-day state visit to Ghana.
The event was held at the official residence of Her Excellency Grace Janet Mason, South African High Commissioner to Ghana, and began with a welcome cultural performance by the Noyam Group.
Her Excellency Grace Janet Mason gave a welcoming address and spoke about the impact that South African businesses have on Ghana's economy. She emphasized her own role in strengthening bilateral, economic and cultural ties between the two countries.
Next, three exhibitors were introduced who displayed their works for the guests. Lion Art Center, Dede, Nii Maruma. Guests were provided refreshments while networking and interacting with exhibitors.
The cultural part of the event consisted of a fashion show named 'Mzanzi Fashion Goes West'. Among the performances by Elsie Duncan-Williams, Aviana, Nana Asase and Samini, the fashion designers who showcased their designs at the show were from South Africa and Ghana.
Includes featured designers. David Tlale, Duaba Serwa, Sally Torpey, Atto Tetteh, Thula Sindi, Chocolate Clothing, Laduma Maxhosa, Harmony Trendz. The fashion show concluded with Her Excellency Mason and all the designers waving the South African and Ghanaian flags on the runway, demonstrating their partnership for mutual benefit.
In his closing remarks, the South African High Commissioner to Ghana spoke about his foundation's previous work with NGOs and called on guests to take action in support of the foundation.
Guests included Hon. Mr. Shani Alhassan Shaibu (Minister of Northern Region), Mr. Fikile Mbalula (Minister of Transport of South Africa), ambassadors, business organizations, the Queen Mother, NGOs, Miss Tourism Ghana 2021 winners and others. The South African Business Networking and Cultural Show is produced by Glitz Africa.
Partners of the South African Business Networking & Culture Show include: Stanbic Bank, MTN, MultiChoice, Goldstar Airlines. TT Brothers and South Africa Wines provided light refreshments for guests. Mac Cosmetics served as the makeup partner.
