The size of South Africa's executive branch has increased to 77 members, including the President and Deputy President.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has taken input from other political parties in the composition of the executive branch.
In the sixth administration, the Minister of Power was added in the last cabinet reshuffle, making the executive staff comprised of 65 members.
The seventh administration saw an 18 percent increase. The opposition parties have frequently criticized the government for its bloated administration.
President Ramaphosa said it was not possible to reduce the size of the executive branch as envisaged in his sixth term, and that the newly announced executive branch includes members of political parties that have previously criticised its size.
Eleven ministries have two deputy ministers, several of whom are from the same political party.
The new cabinet, formed under the Government of National Unity (GNU), will consist of a total of 32 ministers and 43 deputy ministers.
The ANC failed to secure a majority in the general election on May 29, and will now seek to form an alliance with other parties to form the GNU.
The GNU includes the ANC, IFP, Good Party, Inkatha Freedom Party, Patriotic Union, Azanian Pan African Congress, Freedom Front Plus, United Democratic Movement, Al-Jama'ah, Rise Mzansi and United African Change.
