Springbok stalwart Faf de Klerk had two rugby heroes as a child. Surprisingly, neither of them were scrum-half.
Faf de Klerk names his hero the Springboks
Springbok fan favorite Faf de Klerk named two of his rugby heroes growing up in an interview last year. These are not necessarily the names you would expect.
“For me, it was probably Percy Montgomery growing up and Brayton Paulus.
“Percy always had blonde hair and flashy boots and kicked with his left foot, so I felt like I could relate to him,” he explains.
