There have been discussions for quite some time about the possibility of reviving the iconic All Blacks vs. Springboks tour of old, which would effectively mirror the type of marquee series currently taking place with the British & Irish Lions. There is likely to be.
by NZ HeraldSanzaar leaders met in Sydney two weeks ago as negotiations progressed, and NZR chief executive Mark Robinson also confirmed plans to restart the tour.
“There has been some talk about an All Blacks and Springboks tour. We continue to talk about those opportunities,” Robinson said.
“That was part of the conversation we had in Sydney last week. This could have some impact on the nature of the traditional Rugby Championship, so how do we work together with all the partners involved? , how can we make something like this be additive to all teams across the Sanzar joint venture?
“It's definitely something that's getting attention. At this stage, there's a little bit more work left to do.”

What will the Springboks vs. All Blacks tour schedule look like?
According to reports, the original plan was to hold a tour every four years, with the first tour potentially taking place in South Africa as early as 2026. The Springboks will then travel to New Zealand and potentially face the All Blacks and Kiwis Super Rugby teams in 2030, a year after the British & Irish Lions tour.
Springboks are off the table for Six Nations – Report
Any prospects of the Springboks taking part in the Six Nations appear to have ended after an impasse with the tournament's investors.
For quite some time there has been speculation that the world champions Springboks could join the Six Nations as early as next year.
With South Africa's domestic teams advancing to Northern Hemisphere competition via the United Rugby Championship, Challenge and Champions Cup, the Springboks' inclusion in the Six Nations appears to be the natural next step. I can think of it.
South Africa are committed to joining Sanzaar until 2025, but speculation continues to emerge about their potential joining the Six Nations from next year onwards.
However, according to the Sunday newspaper, rapportIt now appears that the possibility of a move to the Six Nations is no longer viable.
It appears that negotiations with CVC Capital Partners, a major stakeholder in the Six Nations, over an investment in SA Rugby have stalled. Negotiations have apparently reached a stalemate and there are reports that talks could break down given the Springboks' chances of qualifying for the Six Nations.
