Stamp Fairtex, a former queen of both weight classes and a three-sport superstar, kicks off the ONE Women's Atomweight Kick at ONE Fight Night 20: Todd vs. Fezzilla, airing this Friday on Prime Video in prime time in the US. Have some insight on boxing and Muay Thai world title matches.
Janet “JT” Todd will face “The Queen” Pezilla in a unified bout for the undisputed atomweight kickboxing gold medal, while Alicia Helen Rodriguez will put her atomweight Muay Thai belt on the line. will face Cristina Morales.
Stamp is scheduled to watch both bouts at Lumpini Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, and shared her predictions on onefc.com ahead of the all-female card on International Women's Day.
The Thai knows Todd better and won the world title fight 1-1 against the American veteran over 10 exciting rounds.
Based on her experience with the current ONE Women's Atomweight Kickboxing World Champion, Stamp believes “JT” can slow down interim champion Pezilla's fierce attacks.
“This match will be exciting, but Janet will fight at a slow pace so I don't think they will be too intense. It will be Pezilla who will be walking towards her.”
But despite Todd's skill and veteran knowledge, her nemesis believes the younger Pezilla has the upper hand, with more momentum in the contest.
In fact, the 22-year-old Thai has achieved a perfect 5-0 record in ONE and won the Interim ONE Women's Atomweight Kickboxing World Title with a win over Anissa “C18” Mexen in her last bout. And Stamp sees this as follows. She has a big advantage over Todd, who is 38 years old.
Offering a prediction for the main event, she said:
“I think Pezilla will win by decision. I don’t think this fight will end in a KO because Janet Todd has a tough guard. She can defend herself really well.
“But Janet has been out of action for a while, while Pezilla has been fighting constantly. So I think Janet is probably a little slower than her.”
Stamp on Rodriguez vs. Morales: “I believe Alicia can pass out.”
Stamp Fairtex also has personal knowledge of one half of the ONE Women's Atomweight Muay Thai World Title fight between reigning queen Alicia Helen Rodriguez and challenger Cristina Morales.
Rodriguez took the belt from Stamp in 2020 and retained it in 2023 with a strong performance against Janet Todd, who returned from pregnancy.
So even though Morales is coming off a commanding stoppage victory over Anna “Supergirl” Jaroonsac, Stamp believes the Brazilian can stay ahead and retain the gold medal.
The current atomweight MMA queen added:
“my [prediction goes to] Alicia, because Christina's style relies entirely on her raw power. But she is out of balance with herself. She believes Alicia can knock her out.”
