Democratic Alliance (DA) leader John Steenhuisen has warned South Africans not to be fooled by what he calls load-shedding maneuvers.
Thirty days have passed without any load reduction in this country. However, the DA leader says this is simply due to his upcoming May 29 election.
Mr Steenhussien was speaking at Nkululeko House in Johannesburg on the eve of Freedom Day. The party has announced an economic policy that it says will create 2 million jobs in the country over the next five years.
Mr Steenhuisen said promises made by the ruling African National Congress (ANC) had not been fulfilled.
“They are burning billions of rands worth of diesel just to keep the lights on, to give the impression to South Africans in the final stages of the election that everything is okay, but the available energy supply If you look at the 'Because everything is not okay' factor is not improving and that is the real measure of how much energy is going back into the economy. So don't ever be fooled by manipulators again. The same operatives who promise jobs in every election do not show up after the election. The same operators who promise water and housing and all of these opportunities are manipulating you into thinking that load reduction is a thing of the past while they plan for load reduction through Phase 16. Therefore, this election will not be manipulated. ”
“The fact that more than 70 out of 100 young people between the ages of 18 and 24, and 42 out of 100 job seekers overall, are unable to find work to support their families and build a better future, The current ANC government is the country’s original sin.” @jsteenhuisen pic.twitter.com/RDwTZI4cGg
