“We are currently in the construction process.”
During an interview with tamron hall showlast March, Teyana Taylor talked about how Dionne was especially selective for her role in the biopic.
“We're already working on it,” Teyana Taylor admitted. “We're in the middle of construction right now. I've always wanted to see if we can lock in with whoever we play with. How's Angela and Tina doing? [Turner] Jamie Foxx and Ray Charles, you know what I'm saying? I miss when you could really get to know them and movies were like that, you could get to know them and empathize with each other and just bond,'' Teyana said.
Taylor also revealed that she is in frequent contact with the legendary singer.
The singer continued: “We talk almost every day. It's my girlfriend. Me and her and her son. I mean, I've always been a big believer in staying safe. She's had a great career. Right now, I think it's important to make her feel as safe as possible to tell her story. Many of these stories are misunderstood or dramatized to some extent; It’s not where I want to be.”
