Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) national chairperson Veronica Mente said the party has demonstrated its ability to govern by forming coalitions in various municipalities. The EFF is in coalition government in Johannesburg and Ekurhuleni, and has two members on the mayoral committee in Johannesburg and five in Ekurhuleni.
The party will hold its final “Tsela Thupa” rally at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Limpopo, ahead of next week's elections.
Mente appealed to voters to allow the country's third-largest political party to show how it can change the lives of its constituents.
“Give the EFF a chance because we have demonstrated it in Ekurhuleni, Johannesburg, through the governance of Nelson Mandela. We have demonstrated it with insourcing workers. We have demonstrated it by being at the forefront of service delivery that MMC is actually unclogging drains. There is no VIP department when it comes to service delivery. In the EFF, everyone is reachable. In the EFF, everyone is accountable and everyone has to get their hands dirty. So we tell and plead with South Africans to trust the EFF government to deliver a clean, accountable and corruption-free government.”
We have come to Peter Mokaba Stadium to remind South Africans that the EFF can rebuild this country.
