Almost a year after Keenan's untimely death, his father Tony Forbes has opened up about his family's relationship with the Tembe family.
Moses Tembe is the father of Anele, who was once AKA's girlfriend. She died in April 2021 after falling from the 10th floor of the Pepper Club Hotel on Roop Street in Cape Town.

The reason why Tembe and the others were excluded from Aka's funeral is revealed.
At the time of her death, she was in a relationship with AKA. Almost two years after her death, she was shot dead in Durban on February 10, 2023. There is no doubt that their deaths often put their families in top trends.
However, Tony Forbes recently opened up about his family's relationship with the Tembe people and how they fell out.On “Within With Hazel” Tony revealed on his podcast that the Forbes family banned the Tembes from attending AKA's funeral.

He revealed that Moses Tembe and his family wanted to join the rest of the mourners in Johannesburg, but the Forbes family felt uncomfortable. Tony revealed that the family's decision was based on news circulating on social media.
Although the Forbes family allowed him to attend their daughter's memorial service and funeral, AKA's family was uncomfortable with him attending their son's funeral.

Moses Tembe did not attend AKA's funeral, but said his absence was due to safety concerns.
“For security reasons, we are not communicating our movements,” Tembe told the media in 2023. This was in response to a question about whether he would participate in AKA's final farewell. It appears that the Forbes family's ban on his funeral was not for security reasons, as the media has advertised.
