African Congress for Transformation (ACT) leader and former ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule said he had evidence and proof that the vote may have been rigged.
He reiterated that if the South African Electoral Commission (IEC) were to agree to a recount, things would get complicated.
Magashule added that if political parties were to raise concerns about the IEC, it was not to undermine the commission's credibility and integrity.

“These are serious discrepancies and irregularities and in simple terms we can call it irregularities because we have given the IEC actual footage of what is happening on the ground. The results, the votes, we have presented what we captured from the IEC result votes but it is a capture of something else. I saw this morning a report from one of the Welkom videos. The ANC voted 490 to 690, the votes were there but the IEC result which captured the resistance was not more than 49, it was 600 or something. In one video we were at 300 but what is recorded is 30 and this is not a mistake but deliberate. In the votes the votes are given to ActionSA. Everyone wants a recount. Should we remain silent for the sake of the integrity of the IEC?”

Gauteng
The Gauteng Electoral Commission says the counting of results is nearing completion at the provincial results processing centre in Alberton, with 99 per cent of votes having been counted so far.
The African National Congress (ANC) is still below 40% on 34.2%, followed by the Democratic Alliance (DA) on 27.7% and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) on 12.8%.
The Umkhonto weSizwe (MK) party came in fourth with the support of 9.6% of voters.
IEC Gauteng spokesperson Moses Pitso says the count is almost complete.
“Today is the final day. We're 99 percent done collecting the ballots. There are about 250 ballots that need to be scanned. Once that's done, we'll check for any exceptions in states where more than 3.6 million people voted,” Pitso said.
Free State
The Free State became the second province to win all votes in a provincial election.
The ANC maintained a majority of almost 52% in the province.
But that's down significantly from just over 61% four years ago.
DA came in second with 21.85%, an increase of 4% from 2019.
The EFF is in third place with about 13.5%.
Freedom Front Plus (FF+) and MK round out the top five in the state.
