Impact-Based Warnings
An orange level 5 warning for high tides has been issued for the coast between Plettenberg Bay and Buffalo City, which could cause flooding, particularly in low-water coastal areas at the estuary.
Disruption to smaller ports, damage to beaches, dunes and estuaries, and even river bank breaches further upstream are expected.
A level 2 amber warning has been issued as heavy rainfall could cause flooding of roads and flood-prone settlements, as well as vehicle accidents due to slippery roads and poor visibility in the south-western Western Cape.
A Level 2 Yellow warning has been issued between Plettenberg Bay and East London for strong winds and waves causing problems for marine navigation for small craft and personal watercraft.
