Nkateko Mabaso passed away earlier this week.
Tributes have been pouring in for former MultiChoice Group executive and former M-Net CEO Nkateko Mabaso.
Mabaso died earlier this week, but the cause of death is yet to be known.
MultiChoice SA CEO of General Entertainment, Nomsa Philiso, expressed deep sadness at Mabaso's passing.
She highlighted his influential legacy in creating well-known works such as: Stone field and Queen.
Apart from the day to day programme, Mabaso also played key roles in key events such as; Channel O Awards and DStv Mzansi Viewers Awards (DMVCA).
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nkateko Mabaso. Nkateko, fondly known to many as NK, M Net He served in various capacities and was Mzansi Magic.
“We will always remember NK. He was a great man for iconic works like Isibaya, The Queen, Channel O “Awards, DMVCA and many more. May his family, friends and colleagues find comfort in this very difficult time,” Filiso said.

Tributes pour in for Nkateko Mabaso
Fans and other celebrities, including Thapelo Mokoena, took to social media to pay tribute to Mabaso.
“In Mabaso I have gained a brother, a big brother in the industry and a friend,” Thapelo Mokoena said on Instagram on Friday.
He added, “It has been such a joy to know you were part of the magic behind the scenes creating and preparing some of my most exciting work. It is so confusing to learn that you are gone and I still can't believe it.”
“You have always been a down-to-earth man and a leader in business in our industry. An icon of our industry rests. Your praises will be sung for a long time to come, brother. Rest in peace, King.”
Mabaso is survived by his wife Matapelo, son Chimorogo and parents Xitlangoma Bob and Lizzie Mabaso.
