- The TotalSport Two Oceans Marathon Race will be held in Cape Town this weekend.

More than 30,000 runners took part in the TotalSport Two Oceans Marathon race in Cape Town this weekend.
On Saturday, 14,000 runners will take to the start line for the grueling 56km ultramarathon, and on Sunday, 18,000 runners will take on the half marathon.
The race is known as one of the most beautiful in the world, with the ultramarathon running from Newlands through Muizenberg, St. James, Kalk Bay, around Chapman's Peak and into Constantia, in the shadow of Table Mountain at the University. We will follow the route of reaching the goal. of Cape Town (UCT).
Runners in the 21.1km half marathon will also start in Newlands, passing through Claremont, Kenilworth, Wynberg and Constantia, finishing in UCT.
Various roads in the city will be closed on both days due to the race.

Additionally, the City of Cape Town announced enhanced race day safety measures, including the deployment of transport, metro police, law enforcement, disaster risk management and fire and rescue services.
Due to Saturday's Ultra, there will be a temporary road closure from 03:30.

Road closures in Hout Bay on Saturday will affect MyCiTi bus services in Hout Bay.
Route 109 will be detoured via Victoria Avenue and Princess Street, and Route 118 will turn around after the Valley stop.

The city's Municipal Waste Management Authority announced that return facilities in Simon's Town, Comezie and Hout Bay will be closed on Saturday due to the marathon.
Residents can use Sea Point for recyclables only, with alternative drop-off facilities at Coastal Park, Wynberg and Retreat.
Fish Hoek Driving Test Center will also be closed on Saturdays.
