Steve Kompela will return to the DStv Premiership dugout less than a month after parting ways with Morooka Swallows after the Golden Arrows confirmed his appointment as head coach on Thursday.
After seven months with the Dube Birds, the Soweto Giants had a turbulent period in December and January, during which the Premier Soccer League fined the club for missing two DStv Premiership games.

Kompela was removed from the team and ultimately chose to leave, as he had different views than Swallows' management on operational issues at the club.
The football fraternity is already predicting he will return to the head coaching position sooner rather than later, with Arrows expected to be his next destination.
The 56-year-old is no stranger to the Backheel Boys, having returned four years after leaving the club.
Kompela carried out relief duties with the KwaZulu-Natal team during the 2019/20 season, arriving at a time when the club was facing relegation, finishing the season in 10th place, much to the relief of club owners and fans.
Once again, he is expected to do the same.
Arrows' last win was against Kaizer Chiefs in late October, but they have now lost 11 games in a row and are currently in 12th place with 23 points.
Kompela's reign begins on Sunday with a difficult draw away to ninth-placed Polokwane City.
Kickoff is at 15:00.
