With just days to go until Wednesday's crucial elections, African National Congress (ANC) leader Cyril Ramaphosa says his party is smelling victory.
He made the speech after leading the ANC's Democracy March on Vilakazi Street in Soweto on Friday.
The march comes on the eve of the Siyankova rally, scheduled to be held at the FNB Stadium.
Ramaphosa explained: “It is a real honour to be here on the eve of a rally that will show us that we will win. In many ways, we have also come to debrief some legends of our movement, here in Vilakazi where our President, Nelson Mandela, once lived, to tell him: Mr President, do not worry, the ANC will win this election whether they like it or not. The ANC will win. I am here and I can smell the sweet aroma of victory on Vilakazi Street.”
ANC President speaking about door-to-door campaign in Soweto:
Former deputy president Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, ANC youth league president Coren Malatzi, ANC women's league president Sisisi Tlashe and Gauteng ANC chairperson Panayaza Lesufi also took part in the march.
