Vivian Reddy: “We are two different individuals”
KwaZulu-Natal businessman Vivian Reddy also denies claims that he has an affair with Visvin Reddy of the MK party.
Vivian has also trolled reports that he is funding political parties ahead of this year's elections.
“Hello, I am Vivian Reddy. I would like to address the recent confusion surrounding my name and clarify a few things. Firstly, my name and the name of a politician named Visvin Reddy are similar. We have similar names, but we are different people.”
“There are certain evil propaganda social media accounts that are spreading misinformation, claiming that I am funding or founding a political party. We deny the allegations as fake news,” he said in the video.
Who is Visbin Reddy?
TimesLIVE reports that Visvin Reddy, who is confused with Vivian Reddy, is the new uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MK Party), registered in September 2023. The party gained attention after being endorsed by former president Jacob Zuma.
Visvin entered politics as a founding member of the Minority Front in 1993 before forming African Democratic Change (ADeC) in 2020.
He joined the DA for two months, left the party for the ANC, and spent 10 years there before recently joining the MK party.
The 54-year-old politician recently made headlines after he was charged with inciting violence over social media posts.
The Mercury newspaper reported that former African Democratic Reform leader Bisbin Reddy threatened civil war last month if his party did not appear on the ballot. He also demanded that the ANC drop its case against MKP.
