Vuyo Dabula is all set to make his comeback to the entertainment industry after a hiatus of over a year.
The actor was involved in a gun violence incident in December 2022 and has since taken time off to focus on his recovery.
He said he spent much of 2023 recovering from his gunshot wounds but has now made a full recovery.
“I've been working really hard in the gym and am now fully recovered. I'm also focusing on recovering mentally and spiritually from that horrific near-death experience.”
of Generations: Legacy The star said she's also dedicated the past year to introspection and self-care.
“What has been most fulfilling is having time to self-reflect and figure things out, and reconnecting with important relationships.
“The entertainment and film industry is demanding, so having this time to solidify and anchor relationships is invaluable.”
Vuyo Dabra's new project
Upon his return, Dabra landed a lead role in a Sunvet advert, which he said was a great experience as he hadn't acted in an advert for a while.
He added: “The funny thing is, I started out as a model working in advertising before going into acting full time…
“After the ad, I acted in a film Showmax“He plays a cool villain. He starts off as a good guy, but then he becomes pretty evil.”

Going forward, Dabbra said he wants to balance his showbiz career with his personal life.
“I value my relationships, my family and myself. I don't want to work so much that I burn out or develop health problems. I make sure to allocate time for myself and value the important relationships that empower me and make me stronger.
“Having a support system is essential to doing your best work. I try not to overschedule myself and stay in communication with those around me about my schedule.”
