New contract with Bruce Bievma
In other news, Chiefs goaltender Bruce Buvuma no longer faces an uncertain future at Naturena.
Bvuma was linked with a red card around October last year.
But Brandon Pietersen's miserable form and Itumeleng Khune's indiscipline gave Buvuma a golden opportunity.
The 28-year-old Chiefs goalie took advantage of the opportunity with both hands. Buvuma, who hails from Leratong in Gauteng, helped the side keep a clean sheet in three consecutive games before Afcon 2023 got in the way.
The Naturena Academy graduate is just days away from signing a new contract extension, according to a new report.
Sinethemba Makonkwo of iDiskiTimes reported: “Kaizer Chiefs are considering extending the contract of Bruce Buvuma after his excellent performance in the last DStv Premiership match before the suspension.”
“iDiski Times understands that Chiefs have offered the shot-stopper a new two-year deal. He has six months left on his current deal and so they are looking to move him to avoid losing him on a free transfer. Because they're trying to tie me down.
“The new contract submitted runs until June 2026,” the report concludes.
