Springbok forward Handre Pollard may be the GOAT when it comes to rugby, but he's proven he's just as knowledgeable about soccer.
The famous fly-half showed off his ball skills in a video posted by English club Leicester Tigers.
Handley has appeared in three Rugby World Cups, of which South Africa won two in a row.
Handre Pollard reveals his favorite footballer – and he's South African!
In a clip filmed during training, Leicester Tigers players were seen showing off their football skills.
Next, the players were asked to name their favorite soccer idol.
First up was Handre Pollard of the Springboks, who proudly named another South African. “Simphiwe Tshabalala,” he said of the former Bafana Bafana player who scored his first goal for his country at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The same man, Jasper Wiese, also mentions the Safa as his favorite animal.
“Steven Pienaar,” he said of the local star who went on to play for English clubs Everton, Tottenham and Sunderland.
In the comments section, South Africans thanked the players for their support.
@manonogram: “I love it. My bokke is so biased. Proudly South African”
@seth92395: “I love the way the SA boys chose the SA players.”
@Mana_Mahraba: “We show love to Bafana.”
@melizemoolman: “Lol, I love the way Handre says Tshabalala.“
Springbok named most 'underrated' player
Meanwhile, Handre Pollard was also asked who he thought was the Springboks' “most underrated player”.
Pollard, who appeared on Jim Hamilton's “The Big Jim Show'' in February, was drafted by center Damian de Allende.
he said: “It has to be him. He gets a lot of criticism, but the fact is that we use him in a very specific way.
“He has a skill set that people don't see on a daily basis. If you watch some of the games he plays in Japan, you'll see what he's capable of.
“But he's just a hard worker. The thing is, when times get tough, he's a guy who always steps up. What he's doing is never pretty. It's a tough yard.”
Pollard has previously revealed his love for Mani Livbok, who substituted for him in several World Cup matches last year.
he said sky sports: “I can’t praise Manny enough for his play and the way he handles pressure.
“He's a humble guy, he works very hard and works for the team.
“He has a great, dynamic way of playing for us as a team, which is great and something we all embrace and enjoy as well.”
“For myself or for him, whatever our role is, no matter where we play, it's all about the team and being able to do our best for them.”
