Musician and footballer Andile Mpisane has been working hard to lose weight and reach optimal fitness levels in order to represent his mother's football club, Royal AM.
The reality TV star is the son of billionaire Sean “Mamkhize” Mkhize and former police officer Subu Mpisane.
Since starting his career as a professional soccer player, he has endured negative opinions from social media users regarding his weight.
The backlash became so intense that his mother defended him during an interview with sportscaster Andile Ncube on the Metro FM show. sports night amplifiedin September 2022.
Mamkhidze, who gave his son the chairmanship of the DStv Premiership club, said his son also goes to training like the rest of his team-mates.
“One thing people don't know about Andil is that he is my son and at the same time he goes to training like any other player. He trains with the team and Andile is the one who introduced me to soccer because of his love for soccer. When he was playing for AmaZulu, I used to cheer him on,” she told Ncube.
The 22-year-old father of four started documenting his weight loss journey on Instagram last year, and the results are showing.
In a recent video, Makwafeni The singer was spotted sprinting down the driveway of her mother's luxury mansion La Lucia in Durban. The speed resistance parachute attached to him is designed to instantly catch wind as he runs, adding resistance weight to make it harder to run.
Andile's video seems to have impressed many netizens. Some said they couldn't wait to see him play soccer after working hard to keep him healthy, while others said they could imagine him playing rugby.
