Sophie Ecclestone beats England teammate Nat Silver-Blunt as UP Warriors beat Mumbai Indians in the Women's Premier League in Bangalore.
The Warriors trailed previously unbeaten Mumbai at 161-6 with 21 balls to spare, securing their first win of the season.
Kiran Nabugire gave Warriors a good start by scoring 57 off 31 balls before England's Issy Wong revived Mumbai with two wickets in an over.
But Grace Harris (38 not out) and Deepti Sharma's unbeaten 27 sealed it.
The Warriors won their third game of the season, missing out on a chance to take the lead but remain in second place, two points behind defending champions Mumbai.
Shiver-Brandt was the captain in Mumbai as regular captain Harmanpreet Kaur was absent due to injury.
The West Indian's Matthews was given a catch behind in the sixth inning and turned it over, but he could have been caught the other four times by the time he reached 50 from 44 balls.
Matthews added 50 points with Jastika Bhatia and 42 points with Shiver Brandt, who was off 19 at bats. Left-arm spinner Ecclestone took the wicket of Pooja Vastrakar and Wong hit his first ball for a six in an unbeaten 15 match.
Nabugire, along with captain Alyssa Healy, added 94 in just nine overs, hitting four sixes to spark the chase.
However, Wong breathed life into the contest after Navgaia was tripped by Amelia Kerr's foot spin.
Pace bowler Wong, playing for the first time this season due to injury to Shabnim Ismail, left Talia McGrath-pound in review, allowing Healy to chop into the short third.
Experienced international pair Harris and Deepti defused the situation and shared an unbroken partnership of 65, winning by seven wickets.
This means Warriors and England manager John Lewis have beaten former England captain Charlotte Edwards, who now leads Mumbai.
