Zahara's sisters are being sued for destroying the late singer's property.
According to the Sunday World newspaper, the new owners of the late singer's home have threatened to sue for vandalism and malicious property damage.
The sisters, Lumka Mkutukana and Bandezwa Mkutukana Phebana, left the house on Friday, but left the contents of the house scattered and took some of the belongings that were part of the house.
“The sisters had been living in the singer's Little Falls, Roodepoort home since her death, and are alleged to have left it uninhabitable when they were evicted last week. The sisters are alleged to have ransacked the residence and stolen a built-in stove. They also removed the ceiling and double wooden garage doors, destroyed the front gate and dumped feces in the swimming pool.”
A representative for the company told the publication that damages amounted to R300,000.
“They caused damage worth easily more than R300,000,” the agent said.
“They've been living in this house for over six months without paying rent. What kind of gratitude is that? Who would do this to someone else's property?”
“What they have done there makes no sense. It is nothing more than a cry of anger and ungratefulness. The owners have the right to sue and are currently considering their options,” the agent added.
