Zakes Bantwini has apologized to DJ Cleo after he expressed disappointment with Cleo's setlist at the 2024 South African Music Awards.
Bantwini initially celebrated the 30th SAMA and praised Cleo's mix, but expressed concern about the exclusion of Durban Kwaito's song.
DJ Cleo tweeted: “Brother, I love you and your moves and will always support you. I have never tweeted or said anything negative about you. You have my number and you know that SAMA is highly political and not my show or platform. Let's lead by example to young people and avoid abusive behavior on social media. ”
Acknowledging Cleo's reaction, Zakes apologized, saying, “If my previous tweets offended you, I apologize.'' My comment was born out of my passion for music. You are right; you should have contacted them directly. I sincerely apologize. ”
This interaction sparked a wide discussion among fans, with many giving their opinions on the interaction.
