Music distribution company Ziiki Media has released Ziibeats Vol. 2, featuring a mix of African artists.
Music distribution company Ziiki Media is looking to connect African artists with the continent at large through “Ziibeats Vol. 2,” a compilation album of songs by African artists.
South Africa will be represented by producer and DJ Yumbz, Sepedi R&B singer Marcus Harvey, singer-songwriters Raspberry and Lee McKrazy, while Grammy-nominated producer Dr Chai will be flying the Zimbabwean flag.
“This project is more than just music; it's a celebration of our common cultural heritage and the unifying power of music. With this second installation, we aim to heat up dance floors around the world and showcase the dynamic evolution of African music,” said Leah Nagar, A&R and Marketing Director, Jiiki Media.
Other continental artists involved in the project include Nigeria's Iyanya and Tanzanian artists Lexsil and Yammi. The first volume of the project was released in April this year.

The value of intercultural exchange
talk The CitizenAisha Kajee of the African-Asian Dialogue (AFRASID) said: G-Beatz Vol.2 Their efforts to enhance harmony in the African region should be commended and encouraged.
“Intercultural initiatives such as this music are invaluable in building bridges between people and increasing understanding of each other's cultures. They should be celebrated and encouraged,” Kazee asserted.
Kajee, former director of the International Human Rights Exchange Programme at the University of the Witwatersrand, spoke to the publication specifically about tensions between African powerhouses South Africa and Nigeria in the wake of the fiasco surrounding former Miss South Africa contestant Chidimma Adesina.
Qazi said the ongoing tension between the two countries stems from their respective positions of superiority as continental powers in the region.
“As regional hegemons in West Africa and Southern Africa respectively, the two countries are seeking to become leaders on the African continent, which has led to rivalry between the two countries.”
G-Beatz Vol.2Single Namtaka It's an Amapiano little track that features Tanzanian artist Rayvanny and South African producer Yumbs, with vocals from Leemckrazy and Raspy.
About the song space Local talents Marcus Harvey and Yumbs infuse South African flavour into Naija’s Afrobeat and chillhop-inspired tracks, complementing Rexil’s Tanzanian influences.
“This project should appeal to everyone who loves good vibes and appreciates the diversity of African music,” Nagar concluded.
